Fasting, When and How?: A Hebraic Perspective

Fasting When and How?: A Hebraic Perspective deals with how and when a Believer must Fast. It explain why Hebrews fast just before their weddings exactly in line with the prophetic Scriptures of Messiah’s Wedding?

Fasting is a very emotional and volatile subject. Views about fasting usually go to extremes! Some have exalted religious fasting beyond all Scripture and reason, and others have utterly disregarded it. This books set the record straight!

Fasting is a sensitive issue and touches upon a matter very personal to us: food! Some consider fasting unnecessary, undesirable, and therefore to be ignored. Others think fasting is to be bound as a matter of faith.

Teaching on fasting is like preaching on gluttony or pornography; it often touches on raw nerves. On top of that it is an untraditional subject and one rarely hears a sermon on this topic. But the Scriptures have so much to say about fasting...

The great Biblical personalities who fasted are:

1) Moshe the Lawgiver
2) David the king
3) Elijah the prophet
4) Esther the queen
5) Daniel the seer
6) Anna the prophetess
7) Yeshua (Jesus) the Son of God
8) Sha’ul (Paul) the apostle

Beloved Christian, you know there are more teachings in the New Covenant on the topic of fasting than repentance and confession! Further, Yeshua (Jesus) spoke more on fasting than on Immersion (Baptism) and the Covenant Meal (Holy Communion)!

What would account for this almost total disregard for a subject so frequently mentioned in Scripture? Is it because many Believers have simply concluded that fasting is a 'Jewish custom', of no value or need in the current age?

In response to the inquiry by some Pharisees concerning the failure of Yeshua's disciples to fast, Yeshua said: "As long as the bridegroom is among them, the sons of the wedding feast are able not to fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them. In that day they will fast" Mark 2:19-20. The instruction is clear but GROSSLY MISUNDERSTOOD; you need to get the revelation...
